OUR
STORY
01 / THE BEGINNING
TWO FRIENDS, ONE CITY.
CPH DISTRICT was started in Copenhagen by two friends who kept having the same conversation: the clothes we wanted to wear every day didn’t exist. Either the quality was there but the identity wasn’t, or the branding shouted while the garment said nothing.
We both grew up moving through this city — cycling between neighbourhoods in every kind of weather, working late, meeting at the harbour, living in the same rotation of reliable pieces. At some point the question became obvious: why isn’t there a label that simply makes that uniform, properly, and says where it comes from?
So we made it ourselves. No investors, no seasonal churn, no moodboard borrowed from another city. Just the two of us, a small first drop, and a clear idea of what Copenhagen clothing should feel like.
02 / OUR MISSION
CLOTHING THAT BELONGS TO COPENHAGEN.
Our mission is simple: make everyday clothing shaped by how Copenhagen is actually lived — not dressed up for it. Pieces that handle harbour wind and sudden rain, that look right on a bike, at work, and at dinner, and that get better with repetition instead of worse.
We believe in restraint. Muted colours because the city is muted. Clean silhouettes because Scandinavian design earned that instinct. Graphics that carry the district’s identity without needing to shout. We would rather make one piece people wear a hundred times than ten pieces worn once.
- Useful over decorative.
- Restraint over noise.
- Repetition over occasions.
- Local over generic.
03 / WHY DROP 001
EVERY PIECE HAS A JOB.
Drop 001 is our starting point, and we chose each piece for a specific role in a daily uniform. The tees and long sleeves are the foundation — the things worn most often, so they had to be right first. The windbreaker answers Copenhagen’s weather, which changes by the block. The washed cap brings a lived-in texture that softens the sharper lines.
The tote and toiletry bag exist because a city collection should be useful: something to carry the day in, and something to keep the essentials together. Nothing in the drop is there to fill a category. Each piece earned its place.
This is not a collection built around a single statement item. It is built around the idea that getting dressed in Copenhagen should be easy — and that the clothes should quietly say where you’re from.
